The company began with humble means, hauling sand and gravel to reservoirs and cutting mine props on local farms, which were transported by horse and wagon to supply the region’s mines.

In 1918, Richards Brothers marked a turning point by purchasing its first truck — a chain-driven Mack — allowing the family business to expand beyond horse-drawn transport and embrace the future of hauling. This milestone began a long tradition of combining hard work, innovation, and family dedication to meet the needs of local industries.
